About The Family Assistant
The Family Assistant has existed since 2020 and brings professional Nannies, Family Assistants and Personal Assistants together with families and entrepreneurs in the Netherlands, Belgium and beyond. Naomi Plijnaar founded TFA from experience on both sides: ten years as a Nanny and later as a Family Assistant, and as an entrepreneur and mother of three children. She knows what it means to have someone at home you can fully rely on.
We are a small team with a large network. That means we know you personally and have met the families you will work for ourselves. We match on character, expectations and the way a household runs, not only on a CV.
What we believe in
Discretion
Privacy is the basis of this work. What you see and hear in a family stays there. We teach you how to work professionally and discreetly, also when things get sensitive.
Anticipation
Thinking one step ahead makes the difference. You see what is needed before anyone asks and act on it. That is the skill families come to us for.
Unburdening
A busy family needs calm. You take tasks and worries off their hands, so parents have time left for each other and for their children.
We work for the long term
A Nanny or Family Assistant becomes part of a family's daily life. The children grow attached to you, the parents rely on you. That is why we do not match for a short while, but look for people who want to commit to a family for several years.
That choice gives both sides something. The family gains stability and continuity, you gain a familiar place where you can develop further, with support from TFA for as long as you work there. Changing faces are pleasant for no one, least of all for children.
Who you speak to
During your application you speak with Maren and Lynn. They hold the online introduction and the conversation at our office in Utrecht. Naomi focuses on the quality of our work, the growth of the company and our internal processes. After you start, Harm is your coach on the job.
