Privacy Statement
This is the privacy statement of The Family Assistant B.V., hereinafter: The Family Assistant. The Family Assistant is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 90707273 and is established in Utrecht. This document explains how The Family Assistant handles the processing of your personal data, through our website, through our client and candidate portal and in the context of our services. The Family Assistant exercises the utmost care when processing your personal data.

Obtaining personal data
If you make use of the services of The Family Assistant, you provide a number of personal details to The Family Assistant yourself, or personal data about you is obtained in the context of the agreement. You also provide personal data when you complete a form on our website. Personal data means all data relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
Forms on the website
Through the forms on our website, for example a request from a family or an application from a candidate, the following data may be collected:
- Name;
- Phone number;
- Email address;
- Town or city and country;
- The type of request and your message;
- For candidates: an uploaded CV (pdf or Word file) and, if you choose to, the vacancy you are applying for;
- Your consent, which you give by ticking the box in the form.
The data you send through a form is processed directly in The Family Assistant’s own client and candidate portal (portaal.thefamilyassistant.nl). After sending, you will receive a confirmation of receipt by email. We use this data to handle your request or application and to contact you.
Categories of personal data
The Family Assistant processes the following categories of personal data:
- Contact details and name and address details;
- Financial data;
- Account details, including your username and password;
- Data about employment and all other related data as stated on the CV (curriculum vitae);
- Certificate of good conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag);
- Company details;
- Data about your website visit, only if you have given consent through the cookie settings;
- Other personal data provided by you.
Purpose of processing
The personal data processed by The Family Assistant is intended to:
- Handle your request, question or application and contact you;
- Contact you to inform you about the services you have purchased and their performance;
- Perform its services, including finding and introducing suitable candidates;
- Improve its services;
- Make payments;
- Comply with legal obligations;
- Carry out marketing and communications;
- Improve the website by analysing visitor behaviour, only with your consent;
- Measure the results of our online advertising, only with your consent;
- Send newsletters, if you have signed up for them;
- Exchange data with third parties for the purpose of performing its services.
Legal basis for processing
Personal data may only be processed on the following legal bases: (i) legal obligation, (ii) performance of an agreement, (iii) (explicit) consent obtained from the data subject, and (iv) legitimate interest. The Family Assistant only processes data that it considers necessary for (improving) its services and handles the (personal) data it has collected about you and your use of the services with care.
We process data you send through a form on the website on the basis of your consent and in order to take steps at your request prior to any agreement. Analytics and marketing cookies from Google are only placed on the basis of your consent. You can read more about this in our cookie statement.
Necessity of processing
The processing of your personal data is necessary in order to perform the services. The services offered by The Family Assistant cannot be fully performed without processing your personal data. If your explicit consent is required for specific purposes, you must give separate consent for this. You can always withdraw consent you have given.
Automated decision making
No automated decision making takes place.
Retention period
The personal data processed by The Family Assistant is retained in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations. If a longer retention period is required under laws or regulations, the personal data will be retained for longer in accordance with those requirements. No (obtained) personal data is kept for longer than strictly necessary. This also applies to data and CVs received through the website and the portal.
Processing by third parties
The Family Assistant only shares personal data with third parties if this is necessary for the performance of an agreement, for the operation of our website and portal, or to comply with relevant laws and regulations. No personal data is sold. The Family Assistant may be under a legal obligation to share personal data with third parties. Where third parties process personal data on our behalf, data processing agreements are concluded. The third parties with whom personal data is shared are:
- Supabase, for the database and file storage (such as CVs) of our portal. The data is hosted within the European Union. The categories of personal data processed are the data from the forms, contact details and name and address details, account details and the data recorded in the portal in the context of our services.
- Resend, for sending emails from the website and the portal, such as the confirmation of receipt of your request. A processing location within the European Union is used for this. The categories of personal data processed are name, email address and the content of the message.
- The hosting provider of the website and the portal, for making the website and the portal available. This involves processing technical data, such as the data needed to display the website on your device.
- Google, for Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement. This only takes place after you have given consent through the cookie settings. The categories of personal data processed are data about your website visit and online identifiers.
- The payment provider, for the performance of an agreement. The categories of personal data processed are financial data.
- The accountant, for the performance of an agreement. The categories of personal data processed are contact details, name and address details and financial data.
- Software suppliers, for the performance of the agreement. The categories of personal data processed are contact details and name and address details.
- The website administrator, for the performance of the agreement and the management of the website. The categories of personal data processed are contact details and name and address details.
- Engaged third party or parties, for the performance of an agreement. The categories of personal data processed are contact details and name and address details.
Security of personal data
The Family Assistant takes the protection of your personal data seriously and, taking into account the state of the art, the costs of implementation, the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing and the risks of varying likelihood and severity for the rights and freedoms of individuals, takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk.
Cookies
The Family Assistant website places one necessary cookie to remember your cookie choice. Google cookies for analytics and for advertising measurement are only placed after you have given consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via “Cookie instellingen” (cookie settings) at the bottom of every page. Social media
Our website contains links to our pages on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook. These are plain links: the website does not load any social media cookies or pixels from these parties. Only when you click a link and visit the website concerned does the privacy and cookie policy of that party apply. For this, we refer you to the privacy and cookie statements of these parties.
This privacy statement does not apply to third party websites connected to this website by means of links. We cannot guarantee that these third parties handle your personal data in a reliable or secure manner. We recommend that you read the privacy statement of these websites before using them.

By using the website, you agree to this disclaimer. The Family Assistant reserves the right to change the content of its website and/or this disclaimer at any time without informing its clients and/or website users of such change. The content of the website has been compiled with the utmost care, but may nevertheless contain inaccuracies or be incomplete. The Family Assistant accepts no liability whatsoever for damage caused by, or arising from, the use of the website. Use of this website is entirely at the user’s own expense and risk. No rights can be derived from the content of the website. The Family Assistant will cease processing the personal data unless there are compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, freedoms and rights, or which relate to the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. - Right to withdraw consent
Where we process data on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. For cookies, you can do this via “Cookie instellingen” at the bottom of every page. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
Complaint
If you have a complaint about the way The Family Assistant handles your personal data, or wish to exercise any of the rights mentioned above, you can contact us via the website or by email at info@thefamilyassistant.nl. To be sure that the request comes from you, The Family Assistant may ask you to enclose a copy of your proof of identity. You may black out your passport photo, citizen service number (BSN) and MRZ (the strip of numbers at the bottom) to protect your privacy. The Family Assistant will respond to your request as soon as possible, and in any event within 4 weeks.
You can also submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). This is the competent supervisory authority. More information is available at https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Changes to this privacy statement
The Family Assistant may amend this privacy statement at any time. The most recent version is published on the website. Please therefore always check the website for the most recent version. If the new privacy statement affects the way in which we process data already collected about you, we will inform you of this by email.
