Terms of employment and salary for Nannies and Family Assistants
Many nannies in the Netherlands work under the domestic services scheme. With us it is different: you are properly employed, with all the security that brings. We think that is a given for work in which you carry so much responsibility.

A full contract
You sign an employment contract with the family or the company where you will work. That means you are socially insured, the employer pays the employer contributions, you build up pension where that applies and you continue to be paid when ill. Holidays and holiday pay are arranged by law.
Our matches are aimed at a long term cooperation. We ask you to commit to the family for several years; in return there is a steady place, a contract and our support.
What you earn
The indication is between € 3,500 and € 4,500 gross per month based on 40 hours. Where exactly you fall within that range depends on your education, your experience and the flexibility the role asks for. If you work fewer hours, the salary is calculated pro rata.
That is higher than is usual in childcare, because the role asks more of you: you work independently, you are flexible and you are the point of contact for one family.

What else comes with it
- A travel allowance or a car from the family, depending on the arrangements in the vacancy.
- Access to the TFA Academy and our live masterclasses. The Academy involves a one off fee, payable after you have signed a contract with a family.
- A dedicated coach at TFA for questions, doubts and personal development.
- Placement at no cost to you: the family pays for our service.
- Clear arrangements about working hours, tasks and expectations, recorded before you start.
If the match turns out not to fit
That can happen. We stay involved after you start, precisely to prevent it. If things go differently than expected, we discuss it with you and with the family and look for a solution together. If necessary, we will look for a new place for you.
Questions about the terms?
Ask away. We are clear about them, also before you apply.
