For a warm and loving family in Amsterdam (IJburg), we are looking for an experienced, calm and committed Nanny who would like to commit to the family for the long term. The family consists of a father, a mother and two young children: a curious toddler boy of 2 and a calm baby girl who is a few months old.

The parents describe themselves as open, flexible and involved. Calm, routine and loving attention form an important foundation within the family, without everything having to follow a strict schedule. They enjoy quality time together, healthy food, trips to the market and an active family life. The family places great value on connection, respectful communication and an open minded approach to parenting.

About the children

The eldest is a sociable, bright and energetic boy who loves playing outside, reading and discovering new things. He enjoys activities such as dance classes, football and visiting museums. He is curious, quick to make connections and needs explanation, structure and challenge. He is also currently looking for a little extra attention as he adjusts to life with a baby sister.

His younger sister is a content and calm baby in her first months. Experience with newborns is therefore an important advantage for this role.

The role

The focus of this role is entirely on caring for and guiding the children. The family is looking for someone who brings calm, is sensitive and takes the time to truly connect with the children. A Nanny who not only cares for them, but also thinks along, encourages them and becomes part of the family as a partner in raising the children.

Alongside caring for the children, the parents would appreciate the Nanny keeping the house neat and organised during the day. It would also be lovely if simple, healthy meals could be prepared for the family.

Tasks

  • Daily care of both children
  • Undertaking activities focused on development
  • Providing structure and calm throughout the day
  • Playing outside, going for walks and heading out
  • Accompanying the children to appointments and activities
  • Light household tasks related to the children
  • Preparing simple, healthy meals
  • Thinking along about the children's upbringing and development

Who are we looking for?

For this family, we are looking for a calm, warm and professional Nanny with natural sensitivity. Someone who is patient, communicates clearly and feels comfortable within a young, dynamic family.

The ideal candidate

  • Has experience with both toddlers and newborns
  • Is calm, structured and well presented
  • Takes initiative and thinks ahead
  • Is loving, patient and consistent
  • Speaks excellent Dutch
  • Values healthy food and a tidy living environment
  • Is flexible and open to occasional travel or evenings by arrangement
  • Preferably holds a driving licence and feels comfortable riding a cargo bike

A background in childcare or education is welcome, but not a requirement.

Practical information

  • Location: Amsterdam (IJburg)
  • Start date: autumn 2026
  • Hours: approximately 30 hours a week
  • Working days: 3 days a week, by arrangement (preference: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)

What is offered?

  • A warm, professional and long term relationship with a committed family
  • A salary between €3.500 and €4.500 gross per month based on 40 hours, depending on experience and background
  • Professional support from TFA throughout the entire process
  • An independent role with a great deal of trust and responsibility
  • Working within an open and respectful family setting where communication and collaboration are central

Are you an experienced Nanny who draws energy from guiding young children in a loving and professional environment? Then we would love to hear from you.
