For a family in Bloemendaal we are looking for a reliable, independent Family Assistant to support the household temporarily, while the current Family Assistant is on maternity leave.
This is a temporary role for a period of four months, with a preferred start date of 1 November 2026. Starting earlier is possible too, even straight away.
The role is about keeping the household running smoothly and bringing presence, calm and continuity to the family.
About the family
The family is two parents, two teenagers and three dogs. The children are independent and are fine on their own. What matters is that there is an adult in the house who brings structure and has natural authority.
- The father is often at work, travelling or home late during the week;
- The mother works abroad during the week;
- There is domestic help twice a week, a gardener and a dog walking service.
You are regularly alone in the house. It matters that you are comfortable with that and can handle it independently.
The role
As a Family Assistant you take on temporary responsibility for the daily running of the household while your predecessor is on maternity leave. You make sure everything keeps running smoothly and you are a familiar, reliable point of contact within the family during this period.
Presence, independence and ownership are at the heart of this role.
What you will be doing
- Being there and keeping an overview in the house;
- Helping the children get going in the morning;
- Cooking daily and doing the shopping;
- Light household work;
- Coordinating the outside help;
- Natural, respectful authority with the children;
- Being available occasionally in the evenings and at weekends;
- When the parents are out in the evening, you take the dogs out once more.
There is room alongside this role to study, follow a course or work on your own projects.
Hours and form
- A temporary role for four months, covering maternity leave;
- Starting preferably 1 November 2026, but straight away is possible too;
- 30 hours a week, spread over four to five days, Monday to Thursday;
- Working hours from 7.30 to 8.30 and from 15.00 to 19.00;
- Living in at least three days a week; living in permanently is also possible;
- Flexibility in the evenings and at weekends;
- No travelling with the family needed.
You are paid for 30 hours a week. The fixed blocks are shorter, but being present in the house and your flexibility in the evenings are part of the role and are included in those hours.
Accommodation
If you choose to live in, you have a spacious floor of your own with:
- Your own bedroom with a sitting room;
- Your own kitchen;
- Your own bathroom.
There is no separate entrance, but there is plenty of privacy. By arrangement, living there with a partner is possible if the match is right.
Who are we looking for?
Training and experience are not decisive. Above all the family is looking for a pleasant, independent and reliable person who takes responsibility and adapts easily to how the household works.

What this role offers
- A varied, temporary role as a Family Assistant with a private family in Bloemendaal;
- A contract for four months, covering maternity leave;
- A salary between €3,500 and €4,500 gross per month based on 40 hours. When living in full time, an appropriate housing component is deducted from this;
